Window Installation Checklist

Please be aware, this is a major construction project so please read the entire document.

Clear and Protect the Work Area: Move furniture, remove window treatments (unless you have instructed us do this for you), and cover belongings to ensure a smooth installation process.
Make Arrangements for Children and Pets: Keep them away from the installation area for safety and efficiency.
Confirm Window Selections and Timeline: Double-check your order details and be aware of the installation schedule.

1. Clear and Protect the Work Area:

Move furniture and decorations away from windows to provide easy access for installers.
Remove window treatments, such as curtains, blinds, and shades, to avoid any damage (unless you have already made arrangements before-hand for us to take care of this for you.
Ensure outdoor areas around the windows are clear of obstacles, including patio furniture, plants, or any other objects that might hinder the installation.

2. Make Arrangements for Children and Pets:

Keep children and pets away from the installation area for their safety and to allow the crew to work efficiently.
Consider making temporary arrangements for pets if they are likely to be disturbed by the noise or the presence of workers.

3. Confirm Your Window Selections and Installation Timeline:

Review your window order to ensure all details, such as style, size, and finish, are correct.
Confirm the estimated duration of the installation process with Cupcake Home Improvements.
Ensure someone will be available at home during the installation to provide access and address any questions from the crew.

4. Prepare for Temporary Disruptions:

Be ready for some temporary inconveniences, such as reduced access to certain rooms or outdoor areas during installation.
Consider planning activities away from home on installation day to avoid the noise and disruption.

5. Notify Your Neighbors:

Let your neighbors know about the installation date and time, especially if the work may cause noise or disrupt the usual parking situation.

6. Final Walkthrough:

Once the installation is complete, do a final walkthrough with the lead installer to ensure everything is done to your satisfaction.
Ask for a demonstration on how to operate and maintain your new windows.

7. Post-Installation Care:

Follow any post-installation care instructions provided by the installers, such as waiting a certain period before cleaning the windows.
Schedule a follow-up visit if needed to address any concerns that arise after the installation.

8. Prepare for Weather Conditions:

Check the weather forecast leading up to the installation day. If rain or severe weather is expected, discuss any necessary adjustments with the installers.

9. Arrange Parking for the Installation Crew:

Reserve parking space near your home for the installation crew to make it easier for them to transport tools and materials.
