A Cupcake gutter appointment is a no-obligation assessment of your existing system — gutters, downspouts, fascia condition, pitch, drainage patterns, and whether the current setup is sized correctly for your roof. In-person assessments are available across the Greater Austin Metro. For straightforward replacements or new installations where your setup is already known, virtual quotes are also available. At the end you get a documented picture of what’s working, what isn’t, and what your realistic options are — no deposit required, no same-day pressure to commit. For the full overview of what we install, see the gutters overview.

Our Commitment Before Work Begins

🕐 How We Show Up

  • On time — your solutions architect arrives at the scheduled time, clearly identified and in uniform
  • Respectful of your property — we walk the exterior carefully and explain what we’re doing before we do it
  • No pressure — our goal is clarity, not urgency; you’re never pushed into a same-day commitment

📋 What You Walk Away With

  • A clear explanation of what was found and what it actually means for your home
  • Realistic options — repair, replacement, or guards — with pricing ranges
  • No obligation — if you decide to move forward later, we pick up without starting over

In-Person Assessment or Virtual Quote

Most gutter projects benefit from an in-person assessment — the condition of the fascia, the pitch of the existing system, and whether the current downspout placement is correct are details that matter and that photos don’t always capture. For straightforward full replacements where the home’s layout and current system are already well-understood, a virtual quote can get you an accurate number without scheduling a site visit. If you’re not sure which is right for your situation, start with the form below and we’ll let you know what makes sense.

The Gutter Assessment: Step by Step

1

Introduction & Goals

We start by understanding what prompted the appointment — overflow during storms, visible sagging or separation, foundation concerns, fascia damage, a home sale, or simply gutters that haven’t been looked at in years. The context shapes what we prioritize during the walk-around.

2

Exterior Walk-Around Inspection

We inspect gutters, downspouts, fascia, and drainage patterns for sagging, separation, improper pitch, clog evidence, joint failures, and signs of water mismanagement at the foundation or along the siding. Every run is documented with photos. Fascia condition gets specific attention — deteriorated fascia behind gutters is a common finding that affects how the new system is attached and whether additional work is needed before installation.

3

System Performance and Sizing Review

We evaluate whether the current system is sized and configured correctly for your roof area, pitch, and drainage load. A 5-inch system on a large roof plane with a steep pitch will overflow in heavy rain regardless of condition. Downspout count and placement get assessed as part of this — an undersized or poorly placed downspout layout is a drainage problem that a new gutter won’t fix unless the configuration changes too.

4

Findings & Recommendations

We explain what’s working, what’s failing, and what can wait. Recommendations may include repair of specific sections, full replacement, guard installation, or no action at all — based on what the home actually needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach. If guard installation makes sense given your tree cover and roofline, we’ll explain which type and why. If guards wouldn’t add meaningful value, we’ll say that too.

5

No-Obligation Quote

If work makes sense, you receive a clear, written quote with scope and pricing — no pressure to sign the same day, no deposit required. If you want to think it over, compare options, or schedule for a future date, we hold the assessment information and pick up where we left off when you’re ready.

How to Prepare for Installation Day

If you’ve scheduled a gutter installation after your assessment, a small amount of preparation makes the day go faster and avoids common delays. The work happens on the exterior, so interior access isn’t typically needed — but the area around the home matters.

Before installation, clear outdoor furniture, grills, tools, and décor away from the walls so ladders can be placed safely at every run. Trim any branches or vegetation close to the roofline — debris that falls into a freshly installed gutter during the job creates an immediate cleaning item. If you have sprinkler heads, uneven ground, tight side yards, or overhead power lines near the roofline, flag those when confirming the installation date so the crew can plan ladder placement accordingly.

Keep children and pets out of the work zone on installation day. The crew will be working with ladders, roll-forming equipment, and material runs around the full perimeter of the home. Confirm the start time the day before and make sure gate access to the backyard is available if needed. If weather is a concern, ask about the reschedule contingency when you confirm — we don’t install in rain, and we communicate proactively if conditions change.

After installation, we walk through the completed work with you before closing out — confirming that gutters are level, downspouts are discharging away from the foundation, and all runs are securely fastened. If you have questions about cleaning frequency or whether guards make sense for your tree cover, that’s the right moment to ask. For the full homeowner prep checklist, see the gutter installation checklist.

How We Operate

We protect landscaping, keep the jobsite clean, and communicate proactively throughout the project. A project manager is available throughout installation so you always know who to contact and what’s happening next. No deposit is required to get started — you pay once the job is completed as promised. Flexible financing, including 0% programs for qualified homeowners, is available on the financing page. If you want to understand the system we install before the appointment, the seamless vs. sectional gutters page covers our standard specification and why we install what we do.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a gutter assessment take?

Most assessments run 30–45 minutes. The walk-around covers every run of gutters, downspouts, and fascia condition, followed by a findings conversation. Larger homes or complex rooflines take longer. We don’t rush the findings conversation — if you have questions at the end, we stay until they’re answered.

Can I get a quote without an in-person visit?

Yes — virtual quotes are available for straightforward full replacements where the home’s layout and current gutter configuration are already clear. For projects where fascia condition, drainage patterns, or downspout placement are uncertain, an in-person assessment produces a more accurate scope. If you’re not sure which applies to your situation, submit the form and we’ll advise on what makes sense before scheduling anything.

Do I need to be home for the assessment?

Yes. The findings conversation is the most valuable part — it’s where we explain what we found, what it means, and what your realistic options are. That conversation only works if you’re there. If your schedule is tight, let us know when you book and we’ll work around it.

What if my fascia is damaged — do you handle that too?

Yes. Deteriorated fascia is a common finding during gutter assessments and needs to be addressed before new gutters are attached — fastening a new system to failing fascia just transfers the problem. We document any fascia damage found during the assessment and include repair or replacement in the scope if it’s needed. You won’t be surprised by it after the fact.

How long does gutter installation take?

Most single-story homes are completed in one day. Larger homes, multi-story installations, or projects that include fascia repair run longer. We don’t leave a project mid-installation without the home secured. Your specific timeline is confirmed before the installation date based on scope and site conditions.

What happens after the appointment if I want to move forward?

You’ll receive a written quote with clear scope and pricing. No deposit is required to schedule the work, and there’s no same-day pressure to commit. If you decide to move forward weeks later, we pick up where we left off — no need to start the process over. If your project involves insurance documentation, we can help navigate that from the assessment forward.
